3 Indians with Most Runs in Twenty20 Internationals-compressed

The first Twenty20 International game between two men’s teams was played in 2005, involving the likes of Australia and New Zealand. The shortest format did impress the fans with engaging action, entertainment and some thrills and chills during the passage of play.

The truncated version captivated the fans with all its drama and excitement and since then it became a major hit among the fans of the cricket fraternity. The first T20I World Cup was launched in 2007 and India won the inaugural edition. Since then, West Indies and England have won two T20 World Cup titles.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka, Australia and Pakistan have won a title each. Case in point, Team India have brilliant cricketers who have excelled in the T20I format. In this article, let’s take a look at the three Indians who aggregated the most runs in T20Is.

1. Virat Kohli

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s record across all formats of the game has been really impressive. This is precisely the reason why he is the best all-format batter in the world. The right-handed batsman comes first on the list as he mustered the most runs as an Indian in T20Is.

For the record, Virat Kohli is also the leading run-scorer in T20Is with 4008 runs in 115 matches and is the only batsman to complete 4000 runs in T20Is. He scored 1 century and 37 half-centuries and maintained an average of 52.73 at a healthy strike rate of 137.96.
