4 Indians whose Test centuries never came in a losing cause-compressed

There is no doubt that India has produced top-tier batters in the history of the sport. With proper backing from the team management, some players have picked up the lessons on the go and then shoot up to the next level in terms of overall performance.

As a result, it makes things much easier for the team to churn out winning results. When a player performs for just one year, they call him a one-season wonder. However, some players consistently made waves with the bat and went on to become greats.

Scoring runs in Test cricket is the ultimate challenge because the red ball swings more than the white ball that is used in limited-overs cricket. The batters need to focus on their footwork, balance and shot selection.

Case in point, we will now take a look at the four Indians whose Test tons never came in a losing cause.

1. Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly has been one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. The former Indian skipper took Indian cricket to the next level when he was at the helm. Popularly known as “The Maharaja of Indian cricket”, Ganguly scored 16 centuries in Test cricket and all of them never came in a losing cause.

2. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is one of the most reliable batters of Team India as far as overseas conditions are concerned. He comes next on the list in terms of scoring the most Test centuries (12*) which never came in a losing cause.

3. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is currently the best opening batsman across all three formats of the game. The experienced campaigner has scored a total of nine Test centuries and all of them didn’t come in a losing cause.

4. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir was one of the highly-rated opening batters during the playing days of his cricketing career. The former Indian cricketer smashed a total of nine Test centuries. Notably, all of them didn’t come in a losing cause.
