At the same time, some batters rose to the occasion and played impactful knocks when it mattered the most.
It is no secret that they have the best batting line-up in the world and have a great chance to make their strong presence count in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in ODIs with 18,426 runs including 49 centuries and 96 fifties. The batting maestro tops the list as has 129 top scores for India in the 50-over format.
2. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter among the active batsmen in One-Day Internationals with 13,083 runs including 47 centuries and 66 half-centuries. He comes second on the list with 73 top scores for India in ODIs.
3. Sourav Ganguly
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly scored 11,363 runs in ODIs including 22 centuries and 72 fifties. Popularly known as ‘The Maharaja of Indian cricket’, Ganguly comes third on the list with 60 top scores for India in ODIs.
4. Rohit Sharma
Indian captain Rohit Sharma is the best opening batter across all three formats of the game. He scored 10,112 runs including 30 centuries and 52 half-centuries so far. He comes fourth on the list with 57 top scores for India in ODIs.
5. Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. Popularly known as The Wall of Indian cricket, Dravid aggregated 10889 runs in ODIs including 12 centuries and 83 fifties. He has 56 top scores for India in ODIs.
