West Indies have always been a nation that has produced quality batsmen, all-rounders and fast bowlers. The Caribbean nation dominated the sport for several years, for the most part of the 1990s. In their prime, no team could ever pose a serious threat to them, which clearly tells how they were as a team.
West Indies were one of the top-performing nations as far as Test cricket is concerned. They were one of the few teams that were able to figure out a way to come out on top much to the opposition’s annoyance. As the years progressed, several greats called curtains on their careers.
Unfortunately, Cricket West Indies (CWI) failed to find and groom the talents like top nations. However, history will remember the West Indies as one of the greatest teams. In this article, we will now go through three batsmen who scored the most centuries for the West Indies in One-Day Internationals.
1. Chris Gayle – 25 Centuries
Chris Gayle is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most destructive batters to have played Twenty20 cricket. The Universe Boss has been exceptional in ODIs and has been pretty decent in Test cricket.
Notably, he comes first on the list in terms of scoring the most centuries for the West Indies in ODIs. Christopher Henry Gayle has smacked as many as 25 centuries in ODIs. More importantly, he is the leading run-scorer for the West Indies in ODIs with 10,480 runs.

He is the second leading run-scorer for the West Indies in ODIs with 10,405 runs. Lara has smacked 19 ODI centuries, the second-most by a Caribbean.
3. Desmond Haynes
Desmond Haynes has been one of the finest batsmen for the West Indies between 1978 to 1994. He has scored more than 16,000 runs in international cricket. The former West Indies cricketer comes third on the list as he has smacked as many as 17 centuries in ODIs.
