Sachin Tendulkar was one the finest batters in the Indian side and the way he dictated bowlers, it was nothing short of wondrous. He would call the shots without any mercy and the way he would navigate himself through a maze of bowling superiority in the form of Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar, Andrew Caddick and who not. Such was the might of Sachin that he would tell bowlers that they would not be claiming his wicket again and it happened.
Harbhajan Singh played with Sachin Tendulkar for almost a decade and the teammates were also a part of the IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians for a while before Sachin called it a day. Tendulkar would be turning 50 on Monday and the Indian stars have already started bringing out the comparisons that they would be so desperately looking forward to. In the growing stories, Harbhajan Singh narrated the tale of how Sachin Tendulkar was once riled up by the off-spinner and it is as hilarious as it gets.
Here is what Harbhajan Singh had to say about SRT’s irritation
Talking to PTI, Harbhajan Singh said, “I had bowled to Sachin as an academy bowler when the Indian team played its matches in Mohali, but once I was selected in the Indian team, it was a different atmosphere. So it happened that I got a chance to bowl to Sachin. Now, after a few deliveries, I felt that he summoned me by nodding his head upside down. So I just went up and asked him ‘Haanji Paaji? Aapne bulaya’? (Did you call me Paaji?). Now Sachin, when he is batting doesn’t talk to anyone. He is just in his zone and told me ‘No’.”

Harbhajan would later go on to tell Sachin that since he was nodding his head, maybe Sachin was calling Harbhajan. However, Sachin got irritated at that and asked Harbhajan why is he coming up to him so many times instead of bowling. Harbhajan explained that since Sach kept on nodding, he thought that the Master Blaster was calling him.
This is why Sachin Tendulkar kept on nodding his head
However, later, Sachin explained that he was wearing a loose helmet and that was what led to him nodding his head and nothing else. The two would later go onto lift the 2011 World Cup together, an indelible chapter in Indian history.
