There are two ways of hitting the sixes in the game of cricket. The first method is by generating tremendous power from the bat against the pace of the delivery and the other method is by relying only on timing rather than power.
A batsman hitting sixes is quite common in T20Is and ODIs but that isn’t the same case when it comes to Tests. It is not that easy to play against the red ball because it tends to swing a lot more as compared to the white ball. As a result, the shot selection becomes rather complicated

1. Wasim Akram
Wasim Akram smacked a total of 57 sixes in his Test career and he smashed as many as twelve sixes in a Test innings against Zimbabwe, the most by any player in the history of Test cricket.
2. Nathan Astle
Former New Zealand cricketer Nathan Astle who holds the record for scoring the fastest Test double ton comes second on the list as he hit a total of eleven sixes against England in Test cricket.

3. Matthew Hayden
Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden who was one of the destructive batters during the playing days of his career comes third on the list as he hit a total of 10 sixes against Zimbabwe.
4. Brendon McCullum
Former New Zealand’s attacking batter Brendon McCullum is the only player to hit 10 sixes in a Test innings against two different opponents – Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively.
5. Ben Stokes
England’s Test captain Ben Stokes hit a total of 109 sixes in Test cricket. He smashed as many as eleven sixes in a Test innings against South Africa.
6. Kusal Mendis
Sri Lankan international Kusal Mendis has hit 41 sixes in his Test career. Notably, he hit a total of eleven sixes against Ireland.
